There are many ways to replace a missing tooth or teeth. A denture or partial plate are both made from acrylic and sometimes metal as well. A mental denture of partial plate is referred to as a chrome cast denture or plate. We work closely with our laboratory technicians to make one that best suits your smile both in terms of look, function, fit and comfort.

Whether you have an existing denture or partial plate, or you are getting one for the first time we will go through how to best take care of it daily. Like your teeth our denture or partial plate gets covered in food, plaque, calculus, and bacteria. It needs to be brushed daily with your toothbrush, water, and toothpaste. Please bring it with you to our 3, 4 or 6 monthly routine maintenance appointments so we can check it and clean it for you professionally. It is advised that you soak it in denture cleaner at least once a week over night to aid in the removal or food, plaque, and bacteria.
We can also fix dentures and partial plates, can get them relined if required or let you know if you just need a new one made.
What is a reline? Essentially is it where the dental technician makes an entirely new fitting surface on your denture for you. This is the part that sits next to your gums. It is required after a time because unfortunately your mouth undergoes continual change once teeth have been lost. The bone recedes and the gum shrinks. However, the body changes naturally as well. Even losing or gaining weight can cause the mouth to change significantly enough to make your denture not fit over time.

For the best retention there is the option of implant retained dentures. This is normally done for an entire arch upper and/or lower and not just a section of teeth that are missing.

There are so many different options when it comes to replacing a tooth or teeth. It can be a difficult decision to make, that is why we are here to assist you.
