Wisdom tooth extraction - A comfortable experience
Having your wisdom teeth removed doesn’t have to be stressful or traumatic. At our practice, we’re committed to making you feel as comfortable and at ease as possible throughout the process.
What are wisdom teeth?
Wisdom teeth are your third and final set of permanent molars, typically appearing in your late teens or early twenties. While some people experience no issues, wisdom teeth can often cause problems, including:
- Impaction: The tooth is tilted or trapped due to lack of space in the jaw.
- Dental Caries: Wisdom teeth are hard to reach and clean, making them more prone to decay.
- Pericoronitis: Infection occurs when bacteria collect under the gum flap covering a partially erupted tooth.
Common wisdom teeth problems
Wisdom teeth can emerge in various positions, leading to issues such as:
- Angular impaction
- Horizontal impaction
- Partial eruption
- Vertical impaction
These conditions can result in severe pain, swelling, difficulty eating, and may impact your overall health. If left untreated, infections can spread to other teeth or even other parts of the body.

Our approach
We closely monitor your wisdom teeth during routine check-ups, using clinical exams, bitewing x-rays, and, if needed, our on-site orthopantomogram (OPG) machine for a comprehensive view. If we detect any problems or if you report symptoms, we may recommend removing one or more wisdom teeth before they cause further complications.
Generally, if your wisdom teeth haven’t caused problems by your early 30s, they’re unlikely to do so in the future. However, we continue to monitor them at your regular dental visits to ensure your ongoing oral health.
