Dentures and partial plates

There are several options available for replacing missing teeth. Dentures and partial plates can be made from acrylic, and sometimes include metal components for added strength. When a denture or partial plate is made with a metal framework, it’s known as a chrome cast denture or plate. We collaborate closely with our laboratory technicians to create a denture that is tailored to your smile, ensuring it looks natural, functions well, fits comfortably, and meets your individual needs.

Whether you already have a denture or partial plate, or are getting one for the first time, we’ll guide you on the best ways to care for it each day. Just like natural teeth, dentures and partial plates can accumulate food particles, plaque, calculus, and bacteria. It’s important to brush them daily using your toothbrush, water, and toothpaste.

Please remember to bring your denture or partial plate to your routine maintenance appointments every 3, 4, or 6 months. During these visits, we’ll check and professionally clean your appliance for you. Additionally, we recommend soaking your denture in a denture cleaner overnight at least once a week to help remove food debris, plaque, and bacteria.

We can also repair or reline dentures and partial plates if needed, or advise you if it’s time for a new one.

What is a reline?

A reline involves a dental technician creating a completely new fitting surface for your denture—the part that rests against your gums. Over time, changes in your mouth, such as bone loss and gum shrinkage after tooth loss, can affect how your denture fits. Even natural changes in your body, like weight loss or gain, can alter the shape of your mouth and require your denture to be relined for a better fit

For optimal stability and retention, implant-retained dentures are an excellent option. These are typically used to replace a full upper or lower arch of teeth, rather than just a few missing teeth. Implant-retained dentures are securely anchored to dental implants, providing superior comfort and function compared to traditional dentures.
